Little Egg Harbor Township Committee Meeting July 9, 2026

There were three presentations.  A National Night Out will be held on August 4. August 7 was recognized as Purple Heart Recognition Day.   Mayors Essay Contest winners read their winning essays.

Two ordinances were adopted. They provided funding for construction of a Public Works building and preparation of tax maps. A bond ordinance was introduced to provide funding for a Radio Road Sidewalk Project. 

Twelve resolutions were passed. There were several personnel appointments. A financial and accounting consulting agreement was authorized. The 2026 budget was amended to include revenue from a grant. Purchase of a police vehicle was authorized. A cash management plan was approved. A performance guarantee was released, and funding was provided for an approved tax map. 

The Township Engineer reported on improvements on Radio Road and Center Street. He noted grant funds were provided for safe routes to school projects on Frog Pond Road and near the high school. 

During public comment concerns were raised about the proposed Lennar project on Center Street. A speaker discussed a pre school project and noted a need for volunteers. A resident asked if the beach water was tested and was told that it was. Concern was raised about the need for speed bumps on portions of Center Street. A resident asked that a performance bond not be released until basins became operational. 

 During Committee comments the essay contest participants were praised.  The July fourth program was praised as very successful, despite the extreme heat.  The next Senior Advisory meeting will be on July 22 at Sea Oaks.
