Generator request

It is the Committee’s belief that this is a permissible request. However, as generators may produce fumes and noise as well as being unsightly, potentially affecting the quality of life of neighbors and other residents, we have developed a set of rules for the approval of requests.

  1. Generators must be permanently installed.
  2. Only Natural Gas-Powered generators may be installed.
  3. The generator must be set on a concrete pad not less than 18 inches from the exterior of the house, and at least 5 feet from any shrub or tree, window or door.
  4. The generator should be installed wherever possible, on the same side of the house as the air conditioner and the circuit panels.
  5. Generators may not be installed in the Front of the house.

To facilitate these requests the homeowner must submit as part of the Architectural Review form Request the following:

  1. A site plan showing intent to comply with the above rules.
  2. The Brand and Model of the generator
  3. The maximum decibel 55 during day light and 45 in the evening produced by the generator when operating.
  4. All Permits issued by the Town of Little Egg Harbor or the State of New Jersey or any political subdivision of the State of NJ that are usually required for this construction to proceed.
